Well usually on friday nights Adam and I like to try a new restaurant in town. We have yet to eat at the same one twice. Tonight it was Eisenhof. Adam had been there with work before but took me since I was wanting a big hunk of red meat. This restaurant brings you a platter with fries, 3 kinds of dipping sauces and a hot stone with a piece of raw meat on it. You are at your own leisure to cook it as much or as little as you want. We both ordered the Rindfleich, beef! Had I not been so freakishly hungry I would have let the questions running through my head come out. Like why does my meat not taste like beef? or Why is my meat turning white not brown as I cook it? Instead I kept eating.
In walks a co-worker of Adams that we had chatted with outside. He looks at my plate and Adam's and said," You know April ( his wife) was brought Pferdefleisch instead of Rindfleich by mistake. I think you got it too!" Yep he was right. I was eating Horse!! It was a good horse too!!! It really just tasted like pork. I still had about a quarter of the steak left at that point. No point in wasting good meat. So tonight I ate a horse!!

Apparently it didn't taste like those cows your mom and dad used to own that we were served that one time...I'm really surprised how experimental you are with your taste buds now. I don't think I could have eaten it. Sounds like you guys are having quite the adventure!
ReplyDeleteI can't get over that there's a 'Coors Light' sign in the background. Are you *sure* you're in Switzerland, and not New Jersey or something?
