37 Weeks - It's Date Night

We had another Doctor's appointment this week to see if the baby had moved into the head down position. We were really hopeful and tried so many techniques to get him to turn. I had been recommended to a website called spinningbabies.com which had ton's of moves, plus we went hiking around Uetliberg and I walked some hills, and I was continuing my prenatal pilates. Well nothing worked this go around. We got to the dr's office and she asked as we went in to her office if we thought there was a change. I said I think something has changed, but I don't know if he has turned all the way. She felt my stomach before she even started the sonogram and got a smile on her face...not the good kind of smile, and I knew NOPE he was still right there in the head up position. Adam and I were a little disappointed. I have had a very normal pregnancy with very minimal issues and we figured delivery would be just as normal. But no I am the 5%! The 5% of women who's babies just stay up and comfortable the way they are.

Our doctor is really terrific and made us so comfortable with this decision. First, she went out and had the nurse call the hospital to set up the c-section date and gave us a couple of options to choose from. Then came back in and went over all our questions about it and discussed a little of the operation. By the time we left her office the c-section was completely scheduled at the hospital and in all our calendars. No fuss about it, we were all ready to go.

On our way home I was silently losing my mind thinking about the fact that I would be cut open in a few weeks. So Adam decided to spend a little more time with me and took me to lunch.  Then he decided that we now know our baby boy may be here on January 29th or sooner so he thought we needed to go on one more date before he gets there ( and before busy season kicks into high gear). So he called and made a reservation for an Italian restaurant that ended up being really great. We had a great time just talking and being out around people. I know we talked about the baby during some of our conversations, but for the most part we just talked about our travels and where we still wanted to go. We kept baby talk to a minimum which was actually really nice. The rest of the weekend was fun too, we just ran around and went to church, cooked of course.  Date night however was the highlight of the weekend!

How far along:  37 Weeks
Baby Size:  Winter Melon..whatever that is?
Total weight gain/loss:  26 lbs
Maternity clothes:  All maternity clothes and leggings...ALL the time!
Stretch marks:  None that i've noticed, but i'm an avid cocoa butter enthusiast
Sleep:  Hip pain has kept me up this week a little, It's kind of an every other day thing. I'll sleep like a rock then have pain and be awake for long periods of time. Then sleep like a rock the next night too. I've noticed that I sleep best and through the night when I workout so i'm doing my best to keep to my 30 min of exercise a day routine.
Best moment this week:  Date night with Adam
Miss anything:  Being able to bend over to pick things up easily and getting off the couch easily =)
Movement:  He moves all the time and hiccups all the time
Food cravings:  None that I absolutely must have. Still love my milk and yogurt
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope I like all foods that I used to like
Have you started to show:  Yes...I have a gigantic belly!!
Gender:  BOY!!
Labor signs:  None that I can tell
Belly button in or out:  I would say half and half. It's pretty much stretched flat but there are times when just a little pokes out.
Wedding rings on or off:  Off..I can't risk it, my hands will swell at the most random times
Mood:  I would say excited and terrified. Nine months feels like a long time, but 2 weeks left is a scary thought.
Looking forward to:  Delivery being OVER!!
Due date:   January 29, 2013 - C-section scheduled, unless he decides to come earlier or rotate to the head down position.
