39 Weeks - My Watermelon is almost here!!!

39 Weeks Pregnant and the day before we go into the hospital to have Baby Ward
Well this pregnancy is rapidly coming to an end and I can't say that I will miss it. This 9th month is...well..heavy. There are some things I will miss from pregnancy, like the kicking randomly and the hiccups. How ever annoying they were they were also really cute. But then there are the things I won't miss. Like how hard it is to get up from anywhere. How exhausted I am from just walking around the corner to the grocery store. Not being able to bend over and put my socks on very well. Not being able to breath very well. My lung capacity is just terrible during this time. Overall, through the good and the bad of pregnancy it wasn't nearly as uncomfortable as I thought it might be. Of course I still have to get through tomorrow =) And now I get to say good bye to this gigantic belly and hello to my son tomorrow.
My 39 Week Belly
How far along:  39 Weeks
Baby size:  Watermelon
Total weight gain/loss: 27lbs
Maternity clothes:  All clothes all maternity...all the time!
Stretch marks:  Yeah unfortunately I think I see some on the underside of my belly. Guess i'll find out after I get my little watermelon out and can actually see the underside of my belly
Sleep:  I was sleeping great until last night. All I could think about was the c-section and everything the dr. described in our c-section meeting...yuck!!
Best moment this week:  Talking with all our family this weekend! Our cousins Josh and Tatiana and baby Judah always give us great stories and insight since Judah is just 6 weeks old.
Miss anything:  My normal size belly...wonder when I'll see that again haha
Movement:  Oh this boy moves all the time. Lots of wiggling around.
Food cravings:  Milk, I think I've already drunk a liter of it today and it's not that late in the day.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Just my nerves, they are making food not taste as good because I'm getting geared up for this surgery.
Have you started to show yet:  Yes! Adam keeps looking at me and saying wow your really pregnant. He's a good husband. That phrase is short, sweet, to the point, and can't get him in trouble. He thinks it's hilarious that it looks like I stuffed a basketball up my dress.
Gender:  BOY!!
Labor signs:  My back was hurting on Saturday and Sunday for a little bit but then went a way. It was short lived so i'm guessing it was just braxton hicks. None so far today!
Belly button in or out:  I would have to say the center of my belly button is hanging out...especially after dinner =)
Wedding rings on or off:  Off!
Mood:  I'm a little more tired now, but overall I feel good. No real pains and as long as I rest I feel fine.
Looking forward to:  Being done with the delivery and hanging out in my room with Adam and the baby.
Due date:  January 29, 2013 - via C-Section

38 Weeks - Could this belly get any Bigger??

How far along?  38 Weeks
Baby Size?  Pumpkin
Weight gain/loss?  26 lbs
Maternity clothes?  I Love my leggings, long tank tops, cardigans, and tall boots. They are also the few items that fit this belly and keep me warm in this cold weather =)
Stretch marks?  It's of course hard to see but I may have seen a couple on my belly. Hopefully they go away soon!!
Sleep?  So far this week I've slept through the night every night.
Best moment this week?  Talked with my in home midwife this week Oyen, and she is awesome!!! I'm so excited to meet her when we get home from the hospital.
Miss Anything?  Can't wait for a sandwich.
Movement?  Yes he is constantly rolling around and kicking. I keep hoping that I'll get to see a hand or foot pushing out of my stomach.
Food cravings?  Still love my milk and dairy.
Anything making you queasy or sick?  None really!
Have you started to show yet?  Oh yeah, my belly is getting big.
Gender?  Boy!!
Labor signs?  None so far, but the baby has dropped lower. I can definitely feel him sitting right on my pelvis.
Belly Button in or out?  Depends on how much I eat. When my belly is full it does kind of stick out a little bit.
Wedding rings on or off?  Off but only for another week
Mood?  I'm feeling pretty good considering the date i'm at. Keeping up with my pilates helps me stay stretched out and relaxed.
Looking forward to?  I am so excited about having the baby in a little over a week, but mostly i'm looking forward to busy season being over for Adam so I get to see him again.
Due Date?  C-section is scheduled for January 29, 2013

37 Weeks - It's Date Night

We had another Doctor's appointment this week to see if the baby had moved into the head down position. We were really hopeful and tried so many techniques to get him to turn. I had been recommended to a website called spinningbabies.com which had ton's of moves, plus we went hiking around Uetliberg and I walked some hills, and I was continuing my prenatal pilates. Well nothing worked this go around. We got to the dr's office and she asked as we went in to her office if we thought there was a change. I said I think something has changed, but I don't know if he has turned all the way. She felt my stomach before she even started the sonogram and got a smile on her face...not the good kind of smile, and I knew NOPE he was still right there in the head up position. Adam and I were a little disappointed. I have had a very normal pregnancy with very minimal issues and we figured delivery would be just as normal. But no I am the 5%! The 5% of women who's babies just stay up and comfortable the way they are.

Our doctor is really terrific and made us so comfortable with this decision. First, she went out and had the nurse call the hospital to set up the c-section date and gave us a couple of options to choose from. Then came back in and went over all our questions about it and discussed a little of the operation. By the time we left her office the c-section was completely scheduled at the hospital and in all our calendars. No fuss about it, we were all ready to go.

On our way home I was silently losing my mind thinking about the fact that I would be cut open in a few weeks. So Adam decided to spend a little more time with me and took me to lunch.  Then he decided that we now know our baby boy may be here on January 29th or sooner so he thought we needed to go on one more date before he gets there ( and before busy season kicks into high gear). So he called and made a reservation for an Italian restaurant that ended up being really great. We had a great time just talking and being out around people. I know we talked about the baby during some of our conversations, but for the most part we just talked about our travels and where we still wanted to go. We kept baby talk to a minimum which was actually really nice. The rest of the weekend was fun too, we just ran around and went to church, cooked of course.  Date night however was the highlight of the weekend!

How far along:  37 Weeks
Baby Size:  Winter Melon..whatever that is?
Total weight gain/loss:  26 lbs
Maternity clothes:  All maternity clothes and leggings...ALL the time!
Stretch marks:  None that i've noticed, but i'm an avid cocoa butter enthusiast
Sleep:  Hip pain has kept me up this week a little, It's kind of an every other day thing. I'll sleep like a rock then have pain and be awake for long periods of time. Then sleep like a rock the next night too. I've noticed that I sleep best and through the night when I workout so i'm doing my best to keep to my 30 min of exercise a day routine.
Best moment this week:  Date night with Adam
Miss anything:  Being able to bend over to pick things up easily and getting off the couch easily =)
Movement:  He moves all the time and hiccups all the time
Food cravings:  None that I absolutely must have. Still love my milk and yogurt
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope I like all foods that I used to like
Have you started to show:  Yes...I have a gigantic belly!!
Gender:  BOY!!
Labor signs:  None that I can tell
Belly button in or out:  I would say half and half. It's pretty much stretched flat but there are times when just a little pokes out.
Wedding rings on or off:  Off..I can't risk it, my hands will swell at the most random times
Mood:  I would say excited and terrified. Nine months feels like a long time, but 2 weeks left is a scary thought.
Looking forward to:  Delivery being OVER!!
Due date:   January 29, 2013 - C-section scheduled, unless he decides to come earlier or rotate to the head down position.

36 Weeks - Our Melon!

Baby Size:  Honeydew Melon
Total Weight gain/loss:  Probably around 24lbs
Maternity clothes:  It's all about the leggings. Thank goodness my largest part of pregnancy is in the winter. I don't know how I would survive otherwise.
Stretch Marks:  None so far...we'll see what things look like after birth
Sleep:  Some hip pain occasionally but otherwise i'm still sleeping like a rock
Best moment this week:  Running around with friends and quiet time with Adam. We have such great friends in Zurich. We've gone out to dinner recently and to hockey games. It's been nice to just hangout with people and do fun things, before the baby gets here. Adam and I also spent a lot of time over our "Stay-cation" just sitting on the couch by the Christmas Tree reading our parenting books and it was so quiet. A co-worker's wife last night said that was one thing she really misses now. Of course she has 3 boys =) So we are doing our best to enjoy our quiet, relaxing time for the next few weeks.
Miss anything:  I don't miss anything on a regular basis, but when we cook breakfast on the weekends and Adam has over easy eggs I am a little jealous. Or when he has an awesome italian sandwich with spicy salami i'm super jealous.
Movement:  Yes, he kept wiggling around near my belly button yesterday and I was afraid it would pop out. It was like he was teasing me...maybe it will and then nope back to another spot. All day long he was messing with me.
Food cravings:  Still love my milk and Adam is having the same craving. We both chug like a liter of milk a day now =) I love that he is sharing my cravings it makes me laugh all the time. My mom did send us a ton of homemade chocolate covered pretzels, and cookies and I think Adam and I have attacked them really well. Not a whole let left!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Have you started to show yet:  Yes and I'm looking forward to not showing in 4 weeks or less. Not more PLEASE!!!
Gender:  Boy
Labor Signs:  None that I can tell?
Belly Button in or out:  Holding in for dear life
Wedding rings on or off:  They are off for now. I kept swelling randomly during the day so I didn't want to risk it.
Mood:  Happy and switching between relaxed and nervous/excited.
Looking forward to:  Our dr's appointment on Jan 10th! Hopefully he has moved around to the head down position and we can finally get a good picture of him. He has been so stubborn and sleeping with his arms over his face every time. Looks just like his daddy in the mornings when he doesn't want to get out of bed =)
Due Date:  February 1st
